Canteen Assistant
We are looking to recruit Canteen Assistants who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food at our distribution centre in Appleton, Warrington.
About the Role
We offer a permanent, Full Time position, working 4 out of 7 days each week. You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week. If you’re looking to earn a bit more then overtime is regularly available.
Shift Patterns Available
- Afternoon shift: 12:00 to 20:00
- Night shift - 18:00 to 02:00
Pay, Working Hours & Benefits
The pay will range between £13.69 and £14.85 per hour dependant on the timings of your shift. This can be discussed with the hiring manager.
Duties
- Food preparation tasks
- Cooking and counter serving of meals
- Receiving and moving of deliveries to kitchen storage
- Replenishment of fridges
- Cleaning of kitchen utensils, appliances and surfaces

About You
This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively and possess general numeracy and literacy skills.
Food hygiene is very important, so a basic food hygiene qualification would be desirable as well as an understanding of workplace health and safety.
