We support effective communication between healthcare providers and patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), helping ensure accurate, ethical, confidential, and culturally appropriate communication.
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Cantonese–English Medical Interpreters for a full-time, remote, hourly-paid Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) position supporting U.S.-based healthcare clients.
This is an hourly-paid position — NOT paid per interpreted minute. Compensation applies to scheduled working hours, not only active interpreting/call minutes.

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time (ET)
- Pay Structure: Hourly — not per interpreted minute
- Compensation applies to scheduled working hours
- Candidates must be available for the full fixed shift
- Secure monthly payments
- One week of paid vacation after completing one year with LanguageBridge Solutions

Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and impartial Cantonese–English interpretation
- Facilitate communication between Cantonese-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare providers
- Provide real-time interpretation through OPI
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Apply medical terminology and professional interpreter ethics
- Handle sensitive and urgent healthcare interactions professionally
- Remain available throughout the assigned shift
- Participate in quality reviews and team check-ins as required
Candidate Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Cantonese and English
- Minimum 1 year of professional medical interpreting experience (OPI or VRI)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of interpreter ethics and confidentiality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred
- Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills
- Comfortable working remotely and handling varied medical calls
- Must successfully pass the required language proficiency assessment and background check
- Must be available for the full Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET schedule

Technical Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Quiet and distraction-free workspace
- USB wired headset
- Laptop or PC with Intel Core i5 (8th generation or higher)
- Minimum 8 GB RAM
- 1080p webcam
- High-speed wired internet connection with a minimum of 20 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload
- Solid grey background for video requirements
- Plain white T-shirt for required video interactions
