I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Overview:
We're seeking an experienced UX consultant to provide advisory support on a reinsurance data platform project. The project involves consolidating reinsurance data from multiple insurance carriers into a single standardized dataset with the highly configurable multistep workflow including data ingestion and technical/business validations, linking, etc., with complex data-heavy screens currently being designed using Angular UI and.NET API.
What we need:
To support the high configurability of the data processing workflow, the delivery team has proposed using Canvas for the UX build and has Canvas experience in-house. We're looking for an independent expert to validate whether Canvas is the right approach (or propose an alternative approach) for this level of complexity & configurability requirements, and to help ensure the screens are being designed in the most logical, intuitive, user-friendly way possible and the solution remains maintainable, scalable, and high performing. Expectation is also to extend support during the initial testing and implementation of the product.

Ideal experience:
- Strong hands-on UX design experience for a highly configurable workflow-based solution
- UX design experience for complex, data-intensive applications (ideally financial services / insurance / reinsurance data)
- Comfortable reviewing and challenging an existing technical approach, not just designing from scratch
- Able to work independently and give clear, actionable recommendations quickly
