Job Opportunity: Experienced Dry Bulk Ship Broker

Marcenta is expanding its Capesize desk and is looking for an experienced dry bulk ship broker to fix and manage Capesize tonnage across the major iron ore and coal trades. You will source cargo and vessel positions, negotiate freight and charter party terms, and build direct relationships with owners, traders, and miners active in the Capesize segment.

Responsibilities

  • Source and verify Capesize cargo and tonnage opportunities
  • Negotiate freight rates, laycans, and charter party terms
  • Maintain and grow relationships with owners, charterers, and traders
  • Track Baltic Capesize Index (BCI) movements and bunker levels to price fixtures accurately
  • Work closely with the operations desk to ensure a smooth handover post-fixture

Requirements

  • Proven experience broking or chartering Capesize dry bulk tonnage
  • Strong understanding of iron ore, coal, and major Capesize trade routes
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, market-driven environment
