Flexible working: this role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a blend of home and office working.

We’re looking for an actuary to join our Capital Modelling team. Reporting into a Senior Capital Actuary, you’ll support the delivery of capital requirement calculations at Group and solo entity levels, using both the standard formula and internal model.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with Risk and wider business teams, providing risk and capital analysis that supports strategic decision making across areas such as business planning, reinsurance strategy and dividends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of capital requirements at Group and solo entity levels for reporting purposes.
  • Produce risk and capital analysis to support key business decisions across the organisation.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and, where required, the regulator.
  • Work closely with the Risk function to build awareness of the key financial risks faced by the business.
  • Support the ongoing delivery of the IMAP project, including validation remediation, model development, model documentation and risk parameterisation.
  • Assist with the build and continuous improvement of the internal model, including data review, input parameterisation, model design, testing and calibration.
  • Perform stress and sensitivity testing to assess the appropriateness of model outputs.
  • Support international businesses with capital queries, sharing UK best practice and developing awareness of different issues across the wider business.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Capital Modelling team, including supporting colleagues and sharing technical knowledge.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
