Job Overview
Are you an ambitious finance professional looking to develop your career in a specialist technical accounting role? South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and proactive Capital and Financial Accountant to join our Financial Services team. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in capital accounting, fixed asset management, IFRS 16 lease accounting and VAT within a forward-thinking NHS Finance Department.
About the Role
This is the Trust's dedicated capital accounting role, providing specialist financial expertise to support the management and reporting of a multi-million-pound capital programme. Working closely with Estates, Digital Services and operational teams, you will help ensure the accurate accounting, governance and reporting of capital investment across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist financial expertise in capital accounting, fixed asset management, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and VAT.
- Support the management and reporting of a multi-million-pound capital programme.
- Work closely with Estates, Digital Services, and operational teams to ensure accurate accounting, governance, and reporting of capital investment.

Requirements
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to explain complex financial information to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of NHS finance, capital accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting, or VAT would be advantageous.
