Base Salary: £250k base

Our client is a leading Power/Transmission contractor who has secured extensive programmes of work on the Great Grid Upgrade.

An executive leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced Capital Infrastructure Delivery Director – Power to oversee the strategic direction and execution of major power generation, grid connection, and transmission infrastructure programmes across the UK.

Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will hold overall accountability for multi-million-pound capital expenditure portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to target commercial returns.

The Role

  • Portfolio Leadership: Provide end-to-end operational direction for major power capital projects from feasibility and consenting through to commissioning.
  • Commercial Governance: Lead commercial strategy, contract negotiation, and supply chain management across major NEC/FIDIC contracts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary executive liaison with key regulatory bodies, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and joint venture partners.
  • Team & Capability Building: Mentor and scale a high-performing team of project directors, engineering managers, and commercial leads.

The Person

  • Proven track record in a senior leadership capacity directing large-scale UK power, high-voltage (HV) transmission, or renewable energy infrastructure programmes (£100m+ value).
  • Chartered status with a relevant body (e.g., IET, ICE, APM, or CENG).
  • Deep understanding of UK energy regulatory frameworks, grid integration, and Health & Safety regulations (CDM 2015).
  • Strong commercial acumen and executive stakeholder management experience.
