About this role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Capital Markets Operations Analyst to join the Wholesale Operations team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build knowledge of Capital Markets operations, risk, and controls within a global financial institution. Working closely with Operations, Risk, and Business Management teams, you will support the execution of governance and oversight activities, including the Self-Inspection Program (SIP), control reviews, operational metrics, and risk monitoring.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of Capital Markets products and operational processes, while partnering with colleagues across multiple locations and functions. The role is ideal for an individual who enjoys analysing processes, solving problems, working collaboratively, and contributing to a strong control environment.
In this role, you will:
- Support the execution of the Governance and Oversight Self-Inspection Program (SIP) across WFS Operations.
- Participate in process walkthroughs and reviews to identify process gaps, risks, and control enhancement opportunities.
- Assist with control testing, validation activities, and ongoing risk monitoring.
- Support the production and maintenance of operational metrics and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Help identify, document, and track operational risks, issues, and remediation activities.
- Partner with Operations, Risk, and Business teams to support governance and control initiatives.
- Contribute to incident management and issue management activities.
- Analyse operational processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Operations and Control functions.
- Support projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and controls.

- Experience within Capital Markets Operations, Middle Office, Operations Control, Governance, or a related area.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle activities including static data, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and investigations.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets products, including Foreign Exchange (FX), Equities, and Fixed Income.
- Understanding of operational risk and control concepts, including risk assessments, controls, incidents, and key risk indicators.
- Knowledge of Corporate Banking operations and awareness of ABF, CDF, or Loan Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of process flows, controls, and operational risks within financial services.
- Knowledge of business continuity and risk management principles.
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Commercial Banking business activities.
- Exposure to risk and control frameworks, including key risks, controls, and testing methodologies.
- Experience working within a banking operations or controls environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of GMI, Intellimatch, Imagine, Broadridge, and/or Calypso.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong team-player mindset.
