Our client is a well-established engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke food production machinery. Supporting customers throughout the food manufacturing sector, they provide end-to-end engineering, machining, fabrication, and site services.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Capital Plant Sales Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded engineer who can combine technical expertise with relationship-building skills to deliver bespoke engineering solutions.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on technical sales role where you will take ownership of the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to project handover. Working closely with design and project teams, you will help customers identify solutions, prepare proposals, and ensure projects are successfully delivered.

The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, developing new opportunities while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships across the food manufacturing industry.
In particular, you will:
- Generate and develop new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sector.
- Manage existing customer accounts and build long-term relationships.
- Understand customer requirements and develop tailored engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical quotations, costings, proposals, and presentations.
- Liaise with internal design and engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically and commercially viable.
- Manage projects throughout the full sales lifecycle, from enquiry through to handover.
- Act as the primary commercial contact for customers throughout project delivery.
- Attend customer sites and industry events as required.
Who we are looking for:

- Proven background in capital equipment, machinery, engineering, or technical sales.
- Experience within food processing, food production machinery, or related manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
- Experience managing projects throughout the full sales cycle.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
In return we are offering:
- Salary Circa £75,000
- Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays).
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm
