Your new company

You will be joining a forward-thinking local authority at a pivotal stage in a wider place-making strategy across the region. Significant investment is being made to transform a region through delivery of high-profile capital projects designed to deliver economic growth, improved public spaces, enhanced infrastructure and new development opportunities. Working within a well-established property and regeneration team, you will play a key role in ensuring that major projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Your new role

As a Capital Project Manager, you will lead on the delivery of a varied portfolio of construction and regeneration projects, overseeing schemes from inception through to completion. The role will involve managing external contractors, consultants and delivery partners, ensuring projects remain on programme, within budget and compliant with all statutory and governance requirements. A particular focus of the position will be providing close contractor supervision across multiple live construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of capital and regeneration projects.
  • Acting as the client's representative throughout the project life cycle.
  • Overseeing contractor performance, quality and health & safety compliance on-site.
  • Monitoring project budgets, programmes and risk registers.
  • Managing project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Supporting with contract management activities where required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience delivering construction, property or regeneration projects on behalf of a client-side organisation.
  • Strong contractor management and site supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of capital project delivery within the public sector, local government or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

In return, you will receive an initial contract with a duration of an initial six months, although this is highly likely to extend beyond this point and could run for up to 18 months through to project completion. A daily rate will be available & paid to you on a weekly basis across the duration of your contract. Hybrid working options will be available, however site presence will be important.
