Capital Solutions Senior Analyst
We are delighted to be working on a Capital Solutions Senior Analyst position with a leading reinsurance group, based in London. This role sits within the Capital Solutions team, reporting to the Head of Capital Solutions, and combines reinsurance market engagement, strategic analysis and portfolio management to support the design, placement and ongoing management of the company's reinsurance programme. The role offers close collaboration with Underwriting, Portfolio Management/Analytics, Actuarial and Finance & Operations, and is highly visible, with genuine exposure to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the outward reinsurance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, underwriting strategy and risk appetite.
- Evaluate proportional, non-proportional and structured reinsurance solutions, providing recommendations on programme design, retention strategies and risk transfer structures.
- Support the design, optimisation and placement of the reinsurance programmes, including annual renewal activities, submission preparation, market presentations and placement negotiations.
- Work with actuarial, portfolio analytics and capital modelling to assess the effectiveness of existing reinsurance arrangements and identify opportunities to improve portfolio outcomes and risk transfer efficiency.
- Monitor reinsurance market conditions, pricing trends, capacity developments and emerging solutions to inform strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurance brokers, reinsurers and market participants, coordinating meetings, portfolio reviews and renewal discussions.
- Support the ongoing development of the Portfolio Management Framework (PMF), including scenario analysis and stress testing to support risk transfer decisions.
- Contribute to the development of analytical tools, models and reporting to support portfolio and reinsurance decision-making.
- Produce high-quality reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management, committees and external stakeholders.

- Experience within reinsurance, portfolio management, exposure management, underwriting, actuarial or a related analytical discipline.
- Strong understanding of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance structures and their application within specialty insurance portfolios.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into commercial recommendations.
- Experience working with portfolio, underwriting or exposure data to support strategic decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance risk, growth and profitability considerations.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience producing management information and analytical reporting.
