HELP SHAPE THE UK’S ENERGY FUTURE

Carbon Graduate Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the CWA Wide Section.

What will you do?

You will support the project's subject matter expert for carbon in the delivery of the carbon strategy, ensuring alignment with PAS 2080, RICS aligned Whole Life Carbon Assessment, and contractual requirements.

Working within the ESG team, and reporting to the Head of ESG Compliance and Reporting, you will assist the carbon lead in the deployment of processes and systems to manage carbon across the project.

This role offers a hybrid working model, with 2–3 days per week on site (Becket House, Ipswich or Sizewell C, Leiston) and the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions

  • Support the subject matter expert in deploying the carbon measurement and reduction roadmaps for all project types and stages and across all disciplines; contribute to annual roadmap update
  • Learn and operate carbon measurement software, both OneClick and eTool, becoming a ‘superuser’ able to provide outputs for inclusion in TOCs, to validate values for contracts, to support delivery teams directly
  • Attain competency in preparing and reviewing carbon information, such as Environmental Product Declarations, to support suppliers as necessary
  • Assist in the collection, integration, and interrogation of carbon data from all project stages, analysing and extracting lessons and value to further progress our decarbonisation journey
  • Write-up, collate, and manage best practice examples and case studies to support knowledge-transfer across sites and to provide collateral/inputs for work-winning
  • Prepare training and communication materials, for both internal and external audiences, in coordination with the wider team and function
  • Support internal knowledge groups on carbon measurement as well as contribute to staff training
  • Work with internal stakeholders, supply-chain partners, and design consultants to obtain/improve carbon information and build processes to automate data capture, sharing, and audit

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
