We have an opportunity for a Cardiac Physiologist to join their team of staff. This is to support the growing Cardiology services within the hospital.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Perform and interpret a wide range of non-invasive cardiac investigations including resting ECGs, Holter monitoring, event recorders, and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Carry out and report on exercise tolerance tests (ETTs), tilt table testing, and other functional assessments.
  • Undertake and interpret echocardiograms (transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echo, if appropriately trained).
  • Assist in cardiac catheterisation procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and right heart studies.
  • Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and waveforms during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Provide technical support during pacemaker, ICD, and CRT implantations.
  • Conduct pacemaker, ICD, and CRT device checks and follow-ups in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Analyse device data and provide expert interpretation to guide clinical decisions.

  • Current knowledge of a range of clinical specialties and developments in clinical practice.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
  • A degree in Clinical physiology or equivalent / ONC / BTEC in physiological measurement and medical physics.
  • Device or Echocardiography accreditation (BHRS/BHRE/BSE).
