Role Description

We have full and part-time, Care assistant roles based in the Hastings & Rother area, East Sussex. Care assistants will provide support with daily living to clients in their homes.

  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Medication reminders
  • Supporting clients with shopping, appointments, and community activities
  • Monitoring clients’ well-being
  • Documenting care provided
  • Promptly reporting any changes in condition to supervisors
  • Building trusting relationships with clients and their families
  • Upholding Caremark’s care standards
  • Following all safety and confidentiality guidelines

Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally full driver's license as many clients are located in rural areas
  • Prepared to work some evenings and weekends
  • At this moment in time, we are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Direct care skills, including personal care, assisting mobility support, and safe transfer techniques
  • Basic household support skills, such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and helping with daily routines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to observe, record, and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition accurately
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a client-centered environment
  • Capacity to work independently, follow care plans, and adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting people to live safely and comfortably at home
  • Previous caregiving, home care, or healthcare experience is beneficial but not always required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant care certifications or training are an advantage
  • Ability to meet any local regulatory requirements, including background checks and eligibility to work
