Senior CareGiver – Edgbaston Office (Home Instead Senior Care)

Job Description

We are seeking kind-hearted, compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on their clients’ quality of life to join our team in Edgbaston as a CareGiver.

As a CareGiver, you will:

  • Provide non-medical support to help clients maintain their independence in familiar surroundings.
  • Perform a range of tasks tailored to each client, including:
    • Personal care (toileting, assisting with hygiene).
    • Meal preparation and light nutritional support.
    • Medication reminders (no administration—sorted away from medication).
    • Domestic duties (laundry, ironing, general cleaning).
    • Accompanying clients to shops, pharmacies, social events, or activities.
    • Alzheimer’s and dementia support (with full training provided).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building trust through mutual interests or hobbies.
  • Offering both practical and emotional support.
  • Adapting care plans to meet clients’ evolving needs.

Training: No prior experience is required—full training provided, including qualification opportunities (e.g., NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care). Our programs prepare you thoroughly for work with vulnerable adults.

Clients & Schedules:

  • Care spans breakfast to overnight visits, depending on their care level.
  • Averages of 1-hour visits (flexible to client needs).

Qualifications & Requirements

No formal qualifications in care are mandatory, but you must demonstrate:

  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering others.
  • A commitment to delivering trustworthy, respectful, and outstanding service.
  • Reliability, empathy, and patience—key to resolving care-related tasks.

Desirable (not essential but helpful):

  • Personal or family involvement in caregiving.
  • Previous support work (voluntary or paid) with older adults.
