Care Assistant - Matlock

Please note: Routes Healthcare does not offer sponsorship.

£14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)

30p per mile travel allowance

Shifts: 7:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am - 2:00pm Saturday

Join Routes Healthcare and support a valued client in her own home in Matlock. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing person-centred care, companionship, and support to an individual living with Huntington's disease.

About The Client

You will be supporting a female client who has Huntington's disease. The ideal Care Assistant will be:

  • Cheerful and positive
  • Enthusiastic and proactive
  • Patient and understanding
  • Able to build a meaningful companionship with the client
  • Willing to engage with a client who has limited verbal communication but good understanding
  • Happy to read books to the client
  • Able to prepare simple meals

Your Shifts

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm

As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality support tailored to the client's individual needs, including:

  • Personal care and daily living support
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship
  • Providing companionship and engagement
  • Assisting with meal preparation
  • Supporting the client's comfort, wellbeing, and independence
  • Following care plans and reporting any changes in wellbeing

Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 3 months' paid UK care experience
  • A caring, compassionate, and reliable nature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • The right to work in the UK
