Job Description

Care Professional – One-Hour Visits | Retford & Surrounding Villages | £13–£14 per hour + Mileage

At Home Instead, we believe great care should never feel rushed.

That’s why every visit we provide is a minimum of one hour, giving you the time to build meaningful relationships and deliver thoughtful, person-centred support.

Areas covered: Retford, Ordsall, Hallcroft, Clarborough, Ranskill, Grove, North Wheatley, Woodbeck, Sturton le Steeple, South Leverton, Rampton, Laneham, Clayworth, Ranby, Gamston, Torworth, Barnby Moor, Askham, Lound, Treswell, Hayton, Kneesall, Bothamsall, Bole, Rockley, Cottam, West Drayton, West Markham, Eaton, Headon, Babworth, Welham and Bevercoates.

What We Offer

  • £13/hour weekdays, £14 on weekends
  • Double time on bank holidays
  • 30p mileage between clients
  • 16 to 30 hours a week (Guaranteed hours contract available)
  • Every second weekend off

Hours and Availability

We are looking for people who can offer reliable availability, including:

  • Weekday evening shifts from 3.45pm to 9.45pm
  • Weekend shifts from 8.00am to 2.30pm and 3.45pm to 9.45pm
  • Alternate weekends (essential for this role)
  • Some flexibility to support client continuity

Our clients rely on us for reassurance, consistency and respectful support at home. Depending on each client’s needs, your visits may include:

  • Companionship and meaningful conversation
  • Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing)
  • Light household tasks
  • Medication prompts
  • Meal preparation
  • Attending appointments or shopping

About You

You do not need previous care experience to apply. We provide full training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Own vehicle with appropriate insurance for business use
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers or character referees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health and Safety awareness or basic training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Physical fitness and mobility to support personal care tasks
  • Willingness to undertake City & Guilds-accredited dementia training and ongoing professional development
  • Reliable transport and punctuality record
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support client continuity
