Job Description
Position Overview
Care Assistant – Part-time, flexible hours Rate: £13.50 per hour | Double pay on bank holidays | Mileage reimbursement (33p–45p/mile)
Essential Requirements:
- Full driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle (Essential for visiting clients across the area. Alternative transport may be considered in exceptional circumstances.)
Purpose: Build meaningful connections with older adults in your local community through companionship, support, and trusted non-medical care.

Unlike standard home care (typically 15–30 minutes), every visit with us lasts a minimum of 1 hour. This allows you to: ✔ Connect genuinely with clients by sharing hobbies or interests (we match based on compatibility). ✔ Go beyond task-based support—whether helping out at home, chatting, or accompanying them on trips.

Responsibilities
As a Home Instead Care Assistant, your dedicated role includes:

Companionship:
- Engaging in meaningful conversations
- Accompanying clients on outings or local activities

Home Support:
- Light housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, prep)
- Encouraging a warm, homely environment

Non-Medical Personal Care:
- Assistance with daily tasks (appropriate to client needs)
- Dressing help, hygiene support, etc. (with full training provided).
No prior experience required. We hire for a warm heart and commitment to making a difference.
