Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to support individuals in their daily lives, providing high-quality care in a respectful and empathetic manner. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and independence of those you support, within their own homes. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
  • Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering positive relationships built on trust and respect.
  • Administer medication and basic health monitoring as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and confidentiality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and their families to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Support transportation needs by driving clients to appointments or activities when required, ensuring safe travel at all times.
  • Uphold health and safety standards within the care environment, including infection control procedures and safety protocols.

Experience

  • Previous experience providing home care services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with following care plans tailored to individual requirements.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating electronic records efficiently.
  • Valid driving license and access to own vehicle is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards and the SSSC Codes of Practice is desirable.
  • A compassionate attitude combined with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

This is a regulated role with vulnerable adults and employment is dependent on a successful PVG membership. The company will reimburse the initial cost of PVG registration upon completion of a probationary period.
