Your Role
As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one, person-centred care for older adults in their homes. Every day will be different — you might be:
- Supporting clients to enjoy outings, such as afternoon tea at M&S café or a trip to Whitby for fish and chips
- Helping with personal care and daily routines
- Providing medication support
- Assisting with mobility needs, including safe manual handling, movement, and transfers
- Carrying shopping or household items when needed
- Kneeling or supporting yourself in low positions for periods when assisting clients
- Helping with errands, attending appointments, and community activities
- Helping with cooking and cleaning
- Promoting independence, dignity, and comfort in every visit

What You’ll Get
- £13.75/hour weekdays | £14.75/hour weekends
- Paid travel time between visits (£13.75/hour)
- Mileage allowance: 45p per mile
- Morning shifts from 7am, Evening shifts till 10pm, including alternate weekends
- No experience needed – full, paid training provided
- Real Living Wage employer

- Continuous in-house and online training
- £40 MOT contribution
- Regular team get-togethers and ongoing support
Where You’ll Work
You’ll support clients across York and nearby villages, including: Acomb, Bishopthorpe, Clifton, Copmanthorpe, Dringhouses, Fulford, Haxby, Huntington, Poppleton, Stamford bridge, Wheldrake, Easingwold, Green Hammerton, and surrounding areas.

What You’ll Need
- A kind, caring, and reliable nature
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Willingness to travel locally across York and surrounding villages
