Full UK Driving Licence & Own Vehicle Essential
If you don't drive and don't have access to your own vehicle, unfortunately this role isn't suitable. Our Care Assistants travel between customers' homes throughout Inverclyde and Renfrewshire, so being a confident driver with access to your own reliable vehicle is an essential part of the role.
Could You Be the Person Someone Looks Forward to Seeing Every Day?
Imagine knowing that your visit could be the best part of someone's day.
For many of the people we support, a Care Assistant is much more than someone who provides practical care. You're a familiar face, a friendly voice, a reassuring presence and someone they can trust.
At Bluebird Care Inverclyde and Renfrewshire, we believe great care starts with treating people as individuals — with kindness, dignity, patience and genuine compassion.
Whether you're helping someone start their morning, preparing their favourite meal, supporting them with personal care, reminding them about their medication, or simply sitting down for a cup of tea and a chat, the little things you do can make a huge difference.
Your care can help someone remain independent, stay connected to their community and continue living safely and happily in the home they love.
What You'll Do
As a Care Assistant, you'll provide compassionate, person-centred care in people's own homes.
Your Day Could Include
- Building genuine, trusting relationships with the people you support
- Providing personal care with dignity, kindness and respect
- Helping customers maintain their independence and daily routines
- Supporting with getting ready, dressing and personal care
- Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition and hydration
- Supporting customers with medication and their general wellbeing
- Helping with light household tasks to keep their home safe and comfortable
- Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support
- Accompanying customers where appropriate and helping them remain connected to their community
- Following individual care plans and respecting each person's choices and preferences
- Travelling between customers' homes and providing reliable, consistent care
- Being someone customers and their families can depend on

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

More Than a Job. It's Someone's Life.
The work you do may seem simple — helping someone get dressed, preparing lunch, making a cup of tea, reminding them about medication or taking the time to listen.
But to the person you're supporting, those moments can mean everything.
You could be the reason someone feels less lonely.

And you could become the familiar face that someone genuinely looks forward to seeing at the door.
That's the difference a Care Assistant can make.
