Evening Support & Care Roles – Part-time & Full-time
Location: Taunton & Local Villages Shifts: Evening (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM) Categories: Part-time & Full-time positions
About the Role
At Home Instead, we are an award-winning home care provider—recipient of the Best Social Care Company title and a 5-Star Employer for three consecutive years. We’re seeking Evening Care Assistants, Support Workers, HCS (Home Care wsporters), or Home Carers to provide compassionate, client-centred support to older adults in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Our team helps older adults maintain their independence by supporting evening routines, companionship and personal care.
What We Offer You
- Competitive pay:
- £13.30/hour (weekdays)
- £14.10/hour (weekends)
- Bank Holiday double pay
- Evening shifts (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM):
- Flexible around studies, childcare, or another job
- Mileage reimbursement: 0.45p per mile with a client

Key Responsibilities
Supporting clients in their home throughout their evening routine:
- Personal Care Assistance: Helping clients with washing, toileting, dressing for bed, or preparing their nighttime routine.
- Medication & Health Support: Administering prescribed medication; assisting with medication management and mobility support.
- Feeding & Refreshments:
- Preparing light meals, drinks, and snacks tailored to individual needs.
- Emotional & Social Support:
- Companionable conversation and engaging activities for the evening.
- Taking clients into the community for social outings or appointments.

Who We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- A valid UK Category B driving license (required due to service locations being devoid of reliable public transport).
- Willing and eligible to complete an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
- Confirmation of work eligibility in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Desirable Traits & Skills:

Strong proficiency in Level 4 English and familiarity with computer systems.

A genuine desire to help others and enhance someone’s quality of life.

Reliability, resilience, proactive attitude, and a can-do mentality.
