Domiciliary Care Worker
The Care Bureau | Northampton, Kettering and Wellingborough
No experience? No problem. A big heart? That's what we're looking for.
Ever had one of those days where a small act of kindness made everything better? That's basically the job description. As a Domiciliary Care Worker with The Care Bureau, you'll help people live independently, safely, and happily in their own homes — and you'll go home every day knowing you've genuinely made a difference to someone's life.
Whether you're completely new to care and looking for a role with real purpose, or you're an experienced carer looking for a team that has your back, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same. You might be:
- Helping someone get washed, dressed and ready to start their day
- Making a cuppa and a bit of breakfast, and staying for a chat
- Popping to the shops or picking up a prescription
- Giving someone a hand with their medication
- Doing a bit of light housework, laundry or bed-making
- Simply being there — company, conversation, and a friendly face

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
