Job Description

HICSS Care Assistant – South Shields

Join Cera as a HICSS Care Assistant and help us transform social care. Our goal is to support people in living longer, healthier, and happier lives in the comfort of their own homes.

Is this the right role for you?

If you're kind, caring, and passionate about making a difference, this could be the perfect opportunity. Previous care experience is required, and you'll be making a real impact every single day.

About the Role

This position involves visiting and assessing individuals who have recently been discharged from hospital, so flexibility is essential. The role requires full flexibility and is offered on a zero-hours contract, with the potential to move to 30 contracted hours in the future if it becomes permanent. We offer both part-time and full-time roles across South Shields, Whitburn, Cleadon, and nearby areas.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, and weekend work is part of the rota. Shifts follow a 7-week rotating schedule.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
