Care Assistant / Home Care Worker

£13.25–£13.75 hourly (including paid travel time + mileage) Region: Harlow & surrounding villages

Shifts: Morning & Evening 8am–12pm / 4pm–8pm (Part-time & full-time undertakings available)

Home Instead Harlow is seeking Morning & Evening Care Assistants, Support Workers, HCAs, and Home Carers to support older adults with evening routines, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own homes.

Ideal if your schedule conflicts with daytime work—balancing study, childcare, another job, or simply preferring later hours, this role lets you earn flexibly.


📋 What You’ll Do

Your duties will include:

  • Personal care (bathing, toileting, bedtime routine prep)
  • Medication prompts & mobility assistance
  • Light meal/drinks/snacks preparation
  • Companionship through meaningful conversation
  • Overnight safety & reassurance
  • Writing concise post-visit care notes (to aid continuity of support)
  • Occasionally assisting clients with social outings or appointments

💰 Pay & Benefits

We treat our carers fairly:

  • £12.75–£13.25 per hour (with potential progression to £13.75)
  • 30p per mile mileage atop competitive pay
  • Paid travel time included
  • Evening-only hours (4pm–10pm compatible roles)

🔍 Entry Requirements

✔️ Experience not required—full (paid) training provided ✔️ Experience or confidence in supporting individuals with dementia/complex needs (advantageous but not mandatory) ✔️ A calm, kind, and respectful approach ✔️ Full UK driving license and vehicular access (essential) ✔️ Good verbal & written English skills ✔️ Willingness to complete Enhanced DBS background checks
