Contract: Full-time
Pay: £14.70 to £16.50 per hour, plus 30p per mile

About the Role
We are currently looking for compassionate and dependable Care Assistants to join our welcoming Stevenage team. Whether you’re starting a new career, returning to work or looking for a role where your kindness will be genuinely valued, we’ll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.
Where you’ll be working
We’re recruiting across Stevenage and the surrounding areas, including:
- Bedwell
- Broadwater
- Shephall
- Great Ashby
- Chells
- Aston
- Knebworth
- Surrounding communities
Wherever you’re based, there could be someone nearby waiting for your care and support.
🚗 A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this community-based role.
Pay rates
- Monday to Friday: £14.70 per hour
- Saturday: £16.50 per hour
- Sunday: £16.50 per hour
- Mileage: 30p per mile between client visits
- Enhanced pay: Weekends and bank holidays
✨ Guaranteed hours are available for the right candidates, giving you the security of regular and predictable work.

- Morning and daytime shifts: Starting between 6:00 am and 7:00 am and finishing at approximately 2:00 pm
- Afternoon and evening shifts: Starting at approximately 2:00 pm and finishing between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm
- Long-day opportunities: Longer shifts may be available for candidates who would prefer to combine daytime and evening availability

Job Description
💙 What you’ll do
As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care in our clients’ homes. You’ll follow individual care plans and place dignity, choice and respect at the heart of everything you do.
Your responsibilities may include:
- 💧 Providing dignified personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support
- 💊 Supporting clients with their medication, including reminders and safe administration
- 🚶 Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of aids and equipment
- 🍲 Preparing nutritious meals and providing support at mealtimes
- 🏡 Helping with light household duties, including laundry, tidying and making beds
- 🤝 Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support
- 🌍 Supporting clients to attend appointments and remain connected to their families and communities
- 👀 Monitoring clients’ wellbeing and reporting any changes
- 📝 Maintaining accurate care and support records
- 🛡️ Responding safely and effectively in an emergency
- 🤝 Working closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals

Qualifications
🦸 What you’ll need
You don’t need previous social care experience to apply—we provide fully paid training and ongoing support.
We’re more interested in your compassion, reliability and willingness to learn. You’ll also need:
- A genuine desire to support others
- A kind, respectful and caring nature
- Good communication and listening skills
- A positive and proactive attitude
- Reliability, resilience and flexibility
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The existing right to work in the UK
