Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council,

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and South West Birmingham NHS Trust work in partnership to deliver high-quality short-term care and support services for local residents. We are currently seeking a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join Harvest View, an 80-bed reablement facility located in Rowley Regis.

This is an exciting opportunity for people who have a passion for working with people and a desire to make a real difference in their lives.

About the role:

As a Reablement Care Assistant you will work with the service user through their person-centred plan and treatment programme in conjunction with the Therapy team and Management team. You will work with individuals to regain their skills and confidence so that they can return home.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Focusing on reablement and reducing long-term needs
  • Promoting well-being and independence
  • Reduce admissions back into hospital
  • Work as part of a Integrated workforce
  • Contributing to all aspects of the physical and emotional care needs of service users
  • Involvement in, and promotion of, the emotional and psychological needs of service users to instil confidence by encouraging feelings of security and personal worth

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ/QCF/RQF L2 in Care or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a care setting, working to CQC standards.
  • A knowledge and understanding of person centred care practices.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, nights and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

Working pattern:

This role operates on a rota basis and includes:

  • Variable contracts from 17.5, 21, 24.5, 28, 31.5, 35 hours per week
  • You will be required to work a mixture of early, late shifts. (7am – 2.30pm and 2pm – 9.30pm) Including alternate working weekends and bank holidays on a rota pattern.
