We now have a great opportunity for a Care Assistant in St Joseph's, Warrenpoint. No COS is offered for this position.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to residents in our St Joseph's Nursing Home in Warrenpoint. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support clients with mobility and daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life
  • Help with feeding as required
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients at all times
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members to ensure consistent care delivery
  • Use IT systems to document care activities and update client records where necessary

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
  • Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
  • Excellent communication skills, empathetic nature, and the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment
