Job Purpose
As a Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care services. Working as part of a small team of two Coordinators, you will oversee day-to-day care operations, support staff, and help maintain the highest standards of care.
You will be instrumental in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for both residents and staff, while developing your leadership skills for future career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on medication management, ensuring safe administration, compliance, and best practice at all times
- Carry out regular audits to monitor care quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Assess and sign off staff competencies, supporting training and ensuring high standards of care delivery
- Supervise and support a team of Care Assistants to deliver outstanding care
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing person-centred care plans
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to care staff
- Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
- Maintain accurate and compliant care records
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and external professionals
- Promote dignity, independence, and choice for all residents
- Lead by example and support the onboarding and development of new staff

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a care role, preferably in a supervisory or leadership capacity within a care home environment.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Medication administration experience.
- A good understanding of care planning, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care, with a focus on enhancing residents' well-being.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
- A willingness to participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and training.
