Clinical Care Group Director
We have 5 Clinical Care Groups, each with a Care Group Director (CGD), who leads their Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This is a serious opportunity for an experienced senior leader to take up this role at a pivotal time. The Children’s Care Group delivers a wide range of high-quality physical and mental health services for children, young people, and their families across the Trust footprint.
The CGD holds day-to-day accountability for everything within the Care Group. This relies on a depth of experience; a candidate who is outcomes-focused, a data informed leader who strives to deliver on all the things the Trust are wanting to achieve.
All CGD are part of the Clinical Leadership Executive, which reports to the Board, informing Trust decision making.
The role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), who is accountable for the delivery of effective and safe clinical services (i.e. the Care groups). You will join four other established Care Group Directors; Deputy Chief Operating Officer and other members of the senior operational team.
The Care Group Director provides leadership to their clinical services which are Childrens Services across Rotherham, North Lincolnshire and Doncaster, alongside their SLT which constitutes three Care Group Clinical Directors and a Deputy Care Group Director.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
