CARE HOME MANAGER

LOCATION: Angus
SALARY: £60,000

Compass Associates are working in partnership with an established elderly care provider to recruit an experienced Care Home Manager for a residential care service in Angus.

This is an opportunity for a confident and compassionate leader to take responsibility for the overall direction, culture and performance of the home. The successful candidate will provide consistent leadership to residents and colleagues while supporting the service through continued development and improvement.

The provider is committed to the long-term success of its homes and is investing in creating stable, sustainable services where residents, families and staff remain at the centre of decision-making.

THE ROLE

As Care Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the home delivers safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

You will lead from the front, providing clear direction to the team and creating an environment where residents feel safe, respected and supported.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consistent and visible leadership throughout the home
  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred care, dignity and independence
  • Leading, motivating and developing a multidisciplinary staff team
  • Providing appropriate clinical oversight and ensuring care remains evidence-based and responsive
  • Supporting staff through periods of change while maintaining stability and clear communication
  • Ensuring effective safeguarding arrangements and promoting resident wellbeing
  • Developing a positive culture based on openness, accountability and continuous learning
  • Using feedback and learning to strengthen systems, practice and service delivery
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, professionals and external partners
  • Supporting the continued development and long-term success of the service

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity will suit an experienced care home leader who brings:

  • Previous management experience within an elderly care setting
  • A compassionate, resilient and professional leadership style
  • The ability to create stability while leading teams through development and change
  • Strong people management and staff development skills
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care and positive resident outcomes
  • Experience supporting teams through supervision, feedback and professional development
  • The confidence to establish clear expectations while maintaining an approachable leadership presence
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, quality and good care practice
  • The ability to develop future leaders and support effective succession planning

You will be a leader who understands that the performance of a successful home depends on creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and accountable.

CANDIDATE SUITABILITY NOTE

This role requires previous management experience within a care home or elderly care environment.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Home Managers and established Deputy Managers who can demonstrate the leadership capability and experience required to take overall responsibility for a service.
