Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Professional to assist a friendly, chatty young man in his 30s with autism. This role involves supporting him during two four-hour visits each week to help him explore his community and beyond. It is ESSENTIAL to be a driver with a reliable vehicle insured in your name to fulfil this role.

Two four-hour shifts per week:

  • Tuesday: 4 hours
  • Friday: 4 hours

Key Responsibilities

  • To drive our client to various locations safely and reliably.
  • To support our client during visits to shops, fast food outlets, nature spots, and other places of interest.
  • To encourage our client to try new experiences in a safe and supportive manner.
  • To build a positive and trusting relationship with our client and his family and promote social interaction.
  • To communicate clearly and effectively to ensure his comfort and understanding. A good and clear standard of spoken English is essential.

Qualifications

Experience with the following is highly desirable:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and supportive.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and business insurance.
  • Understanding of autism and the ability to provide appropriate support.
