Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Professional to assist a friendly, chatty young man in his 30s with autism. This role involves supporting him during two four-hour visits each week to help him explore his community and beyond. It is ESSENTIAL to be a driver with a reliable vehicle insured in your name to fulfil this role.
Two four-hour shifts per week:
- Tuesday: 4 hours
- Friday: 4 hours
Key Responsibilities
- To drive our client to various locations safely and reliably.
- To support our client during visits to shops, fast food outlets, nature spots, and other places of interest.
- To encourage our client to try new experiences in a safe and supportive manner.
- To build a positive and trusting relationship with our client and his family and promote social interaction.
- To communicate clearly and effectively to ensure his comfort and understanding. A good and clear standard of spoken English is essential.
Qualifications
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and supportive.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and business insurance.
- Understanding of autism and the ability to provide appropriate support.

- Understanding challenging behaviour
- Hand hygiene
- Oliver McGowan Training
- Additional training support as needed.
