We carefully select and match outstanding Personal Assistants to each client, considering not only care and support needs, but also personality, lifestyle, interests, communication style and personal preferences. The Care Talent Lead will play a central role in ensuring Venelle continues to recruit and retain an exceptional workforce capable of delivering safe, discreet, compassionate and highly personalised support.
Role Purpose
The Care Talent Lead will take operational responsibility for the recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment compliance of Venelle’s Personal Assistant workforce. The postholder will ensure recruitment activity is responsive to current and future service requirements, including new client referrals, and that all candidates are subject to robust safer recruitment processes. The role will work closely with the Registered Manager and Director of Care Operations to identify workforce requirements, maintain a proactive pipeline of exceptional candidates and continuously strengthen recruitment quality, candidate experience and workforce retention.
Recruitment and Candidate Selection
- Lead the shortlisting and interviewing of candidates applying for Personal Assistant roles, ensuring Venelle consistently recruits individuals of an exceptional standard.
- Assess candidates against Venelle’s values including emotional intelligence, discretion, professionalism, compassion, reliability and ability to deliver highly personalised support.
- Ensure candidates possess the experience, knowledge and personal attributes required for the role and carefully match candidates to clients' needs, preferences, personality and lifestyle.
- Lead recruitment campaigns across appropriate recruitment platforms, preparing engaging advertisements that reflect Venelle’s luxury brand.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-quality candidates to meet anticipated growth and future client referrals.
- Maintain oversight of every stage of the recruitment process, ensuring an excellent candidate experience.

Workforce Planning
- Participate in weekly workforce and recruitment meetings with the Registered Manager.
- Maintain oversight of staffing requirements, anticipated referrals, client-specific recruitment requirements, workforce capacity and recruitment priorities.
- Support proactive workforce planning to ensure Venelle can respond quickly to new enquiries.
Safer Recruitment and Compliance
- Complete and oversee robust pre-employment checks including references, Enhanced DBS, Right to Work, identity, qualifications and employment history.
- Maintain complete, accurate and compliant personnel files.
- Ensure no Personal Assistant commences employment until all recruitment checks have been satisfactorily completed and authorised.
- Support internal audits and CQC inspections relating to recruitment compliance.
Personal Assistant Retention and Engagement
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to develop and review a proactive Personal Assistant Retention Plan.
- Maintain engagement with newly recruited Personal Assistants awaiting client assignments.
- Monitor recruitment and retention trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Seek feedback from candidates and new starters to continuously improve the recruitment experience.
Onboarding
- Coordinate all onboarding documentation including contracts, compliance paperwork and employment records.
- Ensure new starters receive a professional welcome and seamless transition into the organisation.
- Work with operational managers to coordinate induction arrangements, whilst responsibility for training remains with the appropriate operational lead.

Continuous Improvement
- Attend lessons learned and quality meetings where recruitment themes are discussed.
- Review complaints, compliments, safeguarding themes, audits and workforce feedback to identify opportunities to strengthen recruitment processes.
- Continuously review interview questions, candidate assessment methods and recruitment processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Experience leading recruitment within adult social care, healthcare or a related sector.
- Essential: Excellent understanding of safer recruitment and employment compliance.
- Essential: Experience conducting competency-based interviews and managing recruitment campaigns.
- Desirable: Level 3 or above qualification in Health & Social Care, Human Resources, Business or Recruitment.
- Desirable: Experience within a CQC regulated organisation.
