Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Care Worker role based in Eastbourne. The Care Worker will provide person-centered support in clients’ homes, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, while promoting independence and respect.

Responsibilities include:
- Administering or prompting medication
- Preparing nutritious meals
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with daily routines and light household tasks
- Observing changes in clients’ health or behavior
- Reporting concerns promptly
- Documenting care activities in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
The role involves working collaboratively with families, colleagues, and other professionals to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships and provide empathetic support.
- Skills in personal care assistance, mobility support, and safe handling techniques, with a focus on maintaining client dignity and independence.
- Ability to manage medication prompts or administration in line with training and policies, and to follow care plans accurately.
- Organizational and time-management skills to plan visits, manage multiple tasks, and maintain clear, accurate records.
- Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards, including adherence to health and safety and infection control procedures.
- Experience or training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, or a strong willingness to undertake relevant specialist training.
- Reliability and flexibility to work a range of part-time shifts, including possible evenings and weekends, according to client needs.

Desirable:
- Previous experience in home care, social care, or healthcare support; relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent).
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for community visits in and around Eastbourne, or the ability to travel reliably by other means.
