Junior Surveyor - Property Management

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a background in property to join our asset and property management team, initially at junior surveyor level. This career grade post provides the opportunity to progress to qualified property surveyor level, following completion of the accreditation process of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the attainment of associate membership, or corporate membership of the RICS. You will be committed to personal and professional development and this role is an opportunity to further develop your professional skills in a busy property environment.

About the Role

City of York Council have a diverse property portfolio, which provides an annual income in excess of £7m and includes assets such as The Shambles, business centres, retail and industrial property.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a historic city within our award-winning, centrally located modern offices in York.
  • Engage with members of the public, demonstrating competency to converse and provide advice and guidance in spoken English to CEFR level C2.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a hybrid working arrangement determined based on role requirements and personal needs.

Requirements

  • Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.
  • Each role at CYC is different, and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.
  • Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
