You will play an important role in supporting our careers programme and helping students make positive choices about further study, training and employment.
The Role
Working as part of the Careers Development team, you will provide professional careers advice and guidance to learners, helping them make informed decisions about their education, training and employment. You will also contribute to the wider careers programme, working with colleagues and external partners to ensure learners have access to relevant information, guidance and progression opportunities.

You will:
- Provide impartial, confidential and person-centred careers advice and guidance through individual and group sessions.
- Support learners with applications, including UCAS, personal statements, CVs and interview preparation.
- Provide up-to-date information on higher education, apprenticeships, employment and labour market opportunities.
- Contribute to careers fairs, employer talks, workshops, university events and work experience opportunities.
- Build effective relationships with employers, universities, training providers and community organisations.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring learner destinations and outcomes.
- Support the development and evaluation of the College’s careers programme in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks and Careers Strategy.

In this role, you will work directly with students to help them understand their options, prepare for their next step and develop the confidence to move forward. You will also contribute to a careers programme that connects students with employers, universities and opportunities beyond College.
About You
You will have experience of providing careers advice and guidance, ideally within an FE or other educational setting, and a good understanding of current progression routes, including higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
You will be organised, approachable and confident communicating with young people from a range of backgrounds. You will also be able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
Salary
- Salary: £31,156 – £33,543 FTE
- Term-Time Only Salary (40 weeks): £28,716.49 – £30,916.68 per annum
