Make a Difference to Young People's Futures

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Careers Adviser to join the Education Effectiveness Team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people to achieve positive outcomes by preventing them from becoming Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), tracking and monitoring the destinations of Year 12 and Year 13 learners, and providing targeted support to those who are currently NEET.

Working with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and partner agencies, you will play a key role in helping young people successfully transition into education, employment, apprenticeships and training.

About The Role

As a Careers Adviser, you will provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to young people, helping them to make informed decisions about their future pathways. You will maintain oversight of participation and destination data, identify young people who may be at risk of disengagement, and coordinate interventions to improve participation and progression outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, building strong partnerships and making a tangible difference to the lives of those facing barriers to education, employment and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track, monitor and record participation and destination data for Year 12 and Year 13 young people.
  • Identify young people at risk of becoming NEET and implement targeted interventions to support continued participation.
  • Maintain regular contact with young people who are NEET and provide personalised action plans and support to re-engage them with education, employment or training opportunities.
  • Deliver impartial careers information, advice and guidance through one-to-one appointments, group sessions and outreach activities.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and partner agencies to promote positive destinations.
  • Use destination and participation data to identify trends, monitor risk and support service improvement.
  • Contribute to local authority responsibilities relating to participation and the tracking of young people's destinations.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in accordance with data protection and information governance requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
