Liverpool John Moores University is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Careers & Employability Consultant to join our award-winning Student Futures team.
About the Role
Student Futures is LJMU’s Careers, Employability and Start-Up team. As a strategic partner across the University, we deliver innovative expertise, high-impact support and opportunities that empower students and graduates to thrive in their future careers. Working collaboratively with academic teams and external partners, we help transform potential into lasting success.

As one of Student Futures’ business partners to LJMU Schools, you will work with academic colleagues – shaping and delivering activity that embeds careers & employability at the heart of teaching & learning. As well as directly delivering sessions in and beyond the curriculum, you will provide leadership to an associated delivery team. Together, you and your team will also co-develop targeted programmes with students from diverse backgrounds.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in leading or facilitating course design that progresses employability & career confidence
- A track record in delivering engaging & impactful group sessions
- Inspirational leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate and guide others
- Solutions-focused use of data, feedback and evaluation to drive results
- A collaborative, partnership-focused approach
