Careers Information Evening: Area Management & Front Line Sales
Based in the Midlands and thinking about your next career move?
We're hosting an evening in Birmingham to talk about some of the opportunities coming up across Star Pubs and HEINEKEN UK's On Trade Sales teams.
This isn't about applying for one specific vacancy. It's about meeting the people doing the jobs, finding out what they're really like and seeing if one of them could be right for you.
If you're thinking “I could see myself doing that”, come along and find out more.
Thursday 22nd October 2026
2:00pm – 7:00pm Birmingham - Venue details will be shared with successful applicants.
So, what roles are we talking about?
Business Development Manager – Star Pubs
Our Star Pubs BDMs look after a patch of pubs, working with operators to improve performance, develop their businesses and get the best from their pubs.
It's a mix of coaching, commercial thinking, area management and relationship building.
If you've got experience in area, regional, retail, hospitality or operations management, we'd like to hear from you. You don't need to have worked in pubs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Customer Development Executive / Manager & Business Development Manager – Front Line Sales
Our On Trade Sales teams work directly with pubs and bars to grow sales, win new distribution and get more of our beers and ciders on the bar.
You'll build customer relationships, negotiate deals, understand their businesses and find new ways to grow your patch.
If you've worked in sales, account management or business development, enjoy being out with customers and have a commercial mindset, we'd like to meet you. Again, you don't need to come from beer or pubs.
Come and meet us
You'll hear from people doing the jobs and get a proper feel for what it's like.
We'll talk about what you actually do day to day, how people got into their roles, what we're looking for and where these roles can take you.
There'll be plenty of time for questions too. Come with them. We're happy to answer them.
