Caretaker – Help Keep Our Communities Clean, Safe and Welcoming

Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments? Do you enjoy working independently while delivering excellent customer service? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

At Peabody, we're committed to helping people flourish. As a Caretaker, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our residential communities to the highest standards, ensuring residents feel proud of where they live.

What You’ll Do

  • Help create clean, safe, and welcoming environments for residents by delivering high-quality caretaking and cleaning services across communal indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness standards in line with Peabody's Gold Standard.
  • Keep estates looking their best through litter picking, sweeping, waste management, and responding to emergency cleaning requirements.
  • Carry out regular inspections of communal areas, identifying and reporting repairs, defects, and graffiti.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks, including lighting checks.
  • Build positive working relationships with residents, providing a friendly and professional first point of contact for caretaking-related enquiries.
  • Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, and safe working procedures at all times to protect yourself, colleagues, residents, and visitors.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in cleaning, caretaking or facilities services.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Health & Safety awareness and knowledge of COSHH.
  • The ability to carry out physical duties, including lifting bulky items and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
