We are looking to recruit a Caretaker to join the team at our Head Office in Helsby, Cheshire.
This is a part-time role (15 - 20 hours per week, 3 - 4 hours per day) working Monday to Friday. You will look after 3 office locations across Helsby.
Responsibilities
- General gardening, litter picking, maintaining outdoor furniture and all external areas
- Health & Safety compliance by assisting safety officer with weekly fire alarm testing, legionella testing (training provided), monthly emergency lighting checks and a daily office inspection
- Replacing light bulbs, tubes and batteries and testing battery-powered devices and replacing batteries as required
- Repairing door handles, locks and hinges, adjusting door closers, fixing loose fixtures and fittings
- Basic plumbing repairs (e.g., replacing tap washers, fixing minor leaks) and unblocking sinks and drains
- Minor carpentry repairs, hanging notice boards, signs and pictures
- Checking and maintaining kitchen areas, keeping coffee machines running and stocked, cleaning ventilation grilles and extractor fans
- Managing waste and recycling
- Maintaining storage areas and ensuring they are safe to use
- Routine building inspections to identify defects early
- Monitoring heating and cooling systems and reporting issues
- Maintaining stocks of maintenance and cleaning supplies and informing line manager/reception
- Keeping tools and equipment organised and serviceable
- Ad-hoc tasks set by Reception/Office Manager

- Good knowledge and practical skills for gardening and DIY
- Caretaker/Cleaning experience preferred but not essential
- Be flexible to changing demands of the post
- Take pride in a job well done, committed to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Initiative and the ability to work without supervision, but as part of a team
