Job title: Caretaker
We are looking for someone to join our Roost on a full-time permanent basis, with the successful candidate working 5 days out of 7 between 8am & 6pm. Our new Caretaker will become a key part of our existing, friendly and experienced property team at our Nelson Place Property in Belfast.
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £26,227.50
Nelson Place is the newest kid on the block for student accommodation in Belfast opening September 2024. With 774 bedrooms, 3 floors of social spaces to include cinema, sky lounge, study and games rooms, Nelson Place has everything a student needs under one roof.
A 5-minute walk to Ulster University campus, it joins the hub of the student area, where we welcome our fantastic residents from all corners of the world.
Our caretakers are just that: individuals who take care of our buildings, providing not only safe spaces for our residents and team members but also going over and above to keep our buildings well-maintained and an aesthetic dream.
As a caretaker at Student Roost, you are involved in all aspects of building maintenance, from carrying out small repairs to escorting third-party contractors to any issues within your building. You will also take the lead on compliance checks with your keen eye for detail and precise reporting skills. And just as you care for our buildings and the people within them, we’ll take care of you.
We are Student Roost.
It’s more than a room. It’s more than a job.

You’ll Be Someone We Can Count On To
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The ‘us’ part
So you know what we’re looking for, but what are you looking for from your next employer? Sure, Student Roost has a portfolio of purpose-built student accommodation properties across the UK – but more than that, Student Roost is its people.
While we strive to put our residents first, our people also include those at the heart of what we do: the property teams, Night Owls, support staff, HQ teams and more who help to keep ours a 24/7/365-day home away from home for everyone who chooses to live with us. We ask that you seek to make a difference every day you show up, and in return we’ll show up for you by rewarding what’s right, supporting you in your career growth and aspirations, and championing the unique qualities and ideas that only you can bring to the business.
Simply put: you do you, so we grow together.
