Job Opportunity at St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School
St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School is an over-subscribed Middle School for Years 5 - 8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022). The school was recently SIAMS inspected and received a strong report (2026).
We are a Church of England School built upon the Christian values of hope, community, respect, and love.
We are Seeking a Part-time Caretaker/Handyperson
We are seeking to appoint a second part-time caretaker/handyperson to join us as soon as possible.
Main Duties
- Supporting the Site Manager in general maintenance of the site
- Keeping the site clean and safe
- Dealing with deliveries to the school and distributing them accordingly
- Assisting with overseeing the school holiday tasks

Working Hours
The days and hours worked during the holidays are arranged with the Site Manager. We offer:
- Whole days of working across 4 days (one of these days will be a Friday)
- Split shifts across the week for five days
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a keen eye for detail and a can-do approach to work.

Interviews: Tuesday 15th September
Visits to the school are encouraged. Please call to make an appointment to arrange a time when the site manager will tour you. Planned tours are taking place on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th September at 10am and 2pm.
