About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cargo Warehouse Supervisor to join our Cargo Services team at Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
This is a key operational position where you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse handling activities, ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient movement of cargo. You will play a vital role in delivering high standards of service to airline customers, while maintaining full compliance with aviation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a critical area of our airport operations. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth, safe, and compliant movement of cargo, while contributing to the continued success and growth of Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring consistently high service standards
- Take full accountability for your assigned shift, leading and coordinating warehouse teams
- Oversee import and export cargo handling in line with all regulatory requirements
- Manage cargo build-up, palletisation, and aircraft preparation activities
- Ensure dangerous goods are processed in accordance with current regulations
- Investigate incidents and accidents, providing clear findings and recommendations

Planning & Team Management
- Coordinate effective shift handovers and maintain strong communication across teams
- Identify training needs and support ongoing staff development, including refresher training
- Conduct audits and competency checks to maintain high performance standards
- Communicate procedural updates and operational changes clearly to all staff
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with CAA, DfT, HMRC, and airline regulations
- Promote a proactive safety culture and minimise operational risks
- Maintain strict cargo security, ensuring only authorised personnel access facilities
- Oversee completion of all security checks and screening procedures
- Ensure accurate completion of documentation and compliance records
- Lead incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions
- Support and promote GDPR and data protection compliance

Equipment & Facilities
- Oversee the safe operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and weighbridges
- Ensure all equipment is checked, maintained, and operationally ready
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates with proven experience in a cargo, warehouse, or logistics supervisory role, with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and effective team management skills.
The Successful Candidate Will Also Have
- A solid understanding of aviation cargo operations and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of dangerous goods handling (preferred)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A flexible approach to shift work, including nights
