Flights of Fantasy designs and builds high-quality, bespoke play equipment and imaginative play areas. Projects range from large castle fortresses to luxury playhouses with full electrics, as well as elaborate themed play spaces and standalone structures. Every creation is custom-made, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, safety, and creativity. The team continually pushes the boundaries of what is possible, turning unique ideas into durable, visually striking play environments. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter role based in King’s Lynn. The Carpenter will construct bespoke play equipment and structures from drawings and specifications, handling tasks such as framing, fitting, and finish carpentry. Day-to-day work includes measuring and cutting materials, assembling timber structures, operating hand and power tools safely, and ensuring high-quality finishes. The role involves collaborating with designers and other workshop team members, interpreting design concepts, and contributing practical ideas to achieve complex, creative builds. The Carpenter is also responsible for maintaining a safe, organized workspace and adhering to relevant health and safety standards.

Qualifications

- Strong carpentry skills, including experience with structural builds and detailed woodwork.
- Proficient use of hand tools and power tools, with a focus on safety and accuracy.
- Experience in framing and timber construction for custom or non-standard projects.
- Finish carpentry skills, including fitting, sanding, and detailing for high-quality visual results.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and measurements.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a practical, creative approach to one-off builds.
- Comfort working on-site in a workshop environment, including lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work when required.
- Previous experience in bespoke joinery, set building, or themed construction is beneficial.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry or joinery is an advantage.
