Job Description: Resort Carpenter
Overview
To construct, install, maintain, and repair fixtures and structures across the resort. The Resort Carpenter supports the delivery of a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment for guests and team members by carrying out maintenance across accommodation, venues, and back-of-house operations.

General Duties & Key Accountabilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Prepping, cutting, shaping, and smoothing wood and other materials.
- Constructing and installing fixtures.
- Installation of internal and external fixtures.
- Ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations when completing works.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with current regulations and H&S regulations.
- Carry out routine safety checks, testing, and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, testing, and certification.
- Follow safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and support incident response when required.

Operational Support
- Support operational teams with carpentry requirements for events, entertainment, and seasonal attractions.
- Liaise with contractors and oversee electrical works carried out by third parties.
- Ensure tools, materials, and parts are available and stock levels are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and facilities team.
Guest & Team Experience
- Work in a professional and guest-focused manner when operating in public areas.
- Provide technical advice and support to resort departments.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas and plant rooms.
Experience & Qualification Requirements
- City & Guilds and/or Diploma, or NEICH.
- Proven experience as a qualified electrician in a commercial or multi-site environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands.
