Description

CSG is looking to appoint a Case Administrator to join the Casualty Injury team, working with an experienced, friendly team under the Partner who is Public Sector Lead for DAC Beachcroft. You will provide wider admin support to lawyers in the team in running casualty injury files of a high value and importance to our Public Sector clients.

Our Public Sector team manages a wide range of mainly but not exclusively public sector cases for local authorities such as housing associations, charities and other bodies. The team deals with mainly EL/PL, occupiers liability and highway liability with plenty of strong liability issues including cases which will go to trial.

What you will do?

Our new colleague would be required to come into the Birmingham office 5 days a week during their probation, moving to a more hybrid approach once probation is completed.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assisting with the running of files to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion
  • Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients and the commercial requirements of the firm.
  • Assisting with the set-up of new files in the case management system
  • Diarising Court directions
  • Updating CRU certificates
  • Obtaining and chasing medical records
  • Submitting payment requests
  • Chasing orders and settlement cheques
  • Liaising with Courts, Opponent Solicitors and other Third Parties
  • Completing basic legal forms
  • Organising and preparing for Counsel instructions
  • Other administrative duties, as required

Who you are

You might be a recent graduate with experience in administration, have worked as an administrator in the past and want a new challenge in the legal sector or have an interest in getting into an administrative role.

We are looking for the ideal candidate to have:

  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
  • A co-operative team player who is able to work effectively within a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines
  • Organised and able to prioritise and manage a constantly changing workload
  • Able to make decisions within own areas of responsibility
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate
  • Good telephone manner
  • Administration experience or practical experience of file management (preferred)
  • Experience of using a case management (preferred)
  • Experience of finance systems (preferred)
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
