Make a difference. Own the journey. Be part of ELM.
At ELM Legal Services, we help clients protect themselves, their families, and their futures through high-quality estate planning.
We’re looking for an experienced, organised and client-focused Case Handler to join our Estate Planning team and take ownership of a portfolio of clients from instruction through to completion.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy, attention to detail and exceptional client service really matter. You’ll become a key point of contact for your clients, guiding them through what can often feel like a complex process and making it straightforward, reassuring, and stress-free.
What you'll do
- Manage your own caseload from instruction through to completion.
- Build strong relationships with clients and provide proactive, responsive support.
- Draft Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and related estate planning documents.
- Prepare supporting documents where appropriate.
- Review and proof colleagues' work to maintain consistently high standards.
- Check returned documents carefully for accuracy, signatures, witnessing, and specific requirements.
- Submit and manage LPA applications with the Office of the Public Guardian.
- Keep CRM records and client communications accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with Consultants and the wider ELM team.
- Help identify opportunities to improve the client journey and our processes.
- Support the wider team with incoming calls and client contact when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
