To provide professional and impartial support to managers across the organisation by conducting and supporting employee investigations within adult social care services. The postholder will undertake witness and investigation meetings, gather and evaluate evidence, prepare high quality investigation reports, and support managers through disciplinary, grievance, and safeguarding related employment matters.
The role will ensure investigations are conducted fairly, objectively, and in accordance with organisational policies, employment legislation, and best practice, enabling informed management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake and support management investigations into employee conduct, capability, and other workplace matters.
- Conduct enquiries in a timely, professional and impartial manner.
- Plan and manage investigations, including identifying witnesses, evidence requirements and key lines of enquiry.
- Arrange and conduct witness interviews and investigation meetings.
- Ensure accurate notes are available and maintain comprehensive investigation records.
- Evaluate evidence and identify relevant facts objectively.
- Prepare clear, concise and robust management investigation reports suitable for disciplinary and other formal employment processes.
- Present findings to managers.
- Ensure consistency in approach across all services.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality written reports within agreed timescales.
- Ensure all investigation documentation is accurate, objective and appropriately stored.
- Maintain investigation records in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
- To escalate any business critical issues to the HR Director
- Understand the operating environment of adult social care services.
- Recognise the interaction between employment investigations, safeguarding concerns and regulatory requirements.
- Work sensitively within care settings while maintaining service continuity and resident wellbeing.
- Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, standards and guidance affecting social care services.
This role is based in Scotland and travel to our care homes is expected.
