About The Role

The Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is looking for an experienced Casework and Correspondence Manager to provide a high-quality casework, correspondence and executive support function within the Mayor’s Office.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will work closely with the Mayor, Mayoral Policy Advice Team and senior officers to manage complex casework, correspondence and enquiries on behalf of the Mayor.

You will manage casework from receipt through to resolution, lead on politically sensitive and high-profile enquiries, oversee the Mayor’s inbox and draft clear, accurate and appropriately tailored responses.

You will also provide insight into emerging issues and themes from casework, support engagement with residents and stakeholders, and work with senior officers on Mayoral events, roundtables, summits and other strategic initiatives.

This is a high-profile role requiring excellent judgement, discretion, political awareness and communication skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
